Neil Dalton & The Blue Aces

Neil was travelling with the great Brownie McGhee when he was seventeen years old. Jimmy Rogers (guitarist with Muddy Waters), Little Charlie and The Nightcaps, Otis Grand, Walter Trout are just a few of the artists he's worked with. Setting up the famed Acme Blues Company in the mid-eighties, Neil has been a regular performer at Colne Festival for over ten years. Rooted in country and delta blues he has developed a unique style - finger-picking his Guild through fifties Chicago and Texas swing naming T-Bone Walker and Jimmy Rogers as major influences.Blakey 20/7/00

The Blue Aces feature Tom Cox on harmonica. Though still in his early twenties, Tom brings the guts of Beefy La Slapreal Chicago harp blowing to the band - Little Walter, Junior Wells - he's up there with his mentors. On bass - Beefy La Slap. Beefy has come out of Rock-a-Billy, playing stand-up bass with the re-formed Blue Caps after Gene Vincent's death and working in the bands of a whole range of famed Sun Recording artists: Sonny Burgess, Charlie Feathers, Johnny Powers, Narvel Phelps. Tony Readman plays drums - described by Andy Powers of Scandalous Batchelors as "so laid back he's horizontal".
