RAY STUBBS

and his amazing one man blues band

The North's finest Blues Man. Ray plays a mixture of Boogie, jug-band, ragtime, gospel, delta-country and Chicago blues in a unigue style - performed on Europe's largest one-man-band kit. Foot operated snare drum, crash-cymbal, sock-cymbal, foot operated washboard, hi-hat, kazoosaphone, bass pedal board, jug, cowbell, bass drum, six and twelve string guitars, harmonica, vocals....... Ray has played all the major blues festivals in the UK and Europe. "Great soul in his sound, his harmonica playing is strong and atmospheric, his slide guitar drives along, his whole sound is distinctive and very much his own..." (British Blues Connection).

Ray has ten CDs currently available including, on Delta Records, "A Spoonful of Boogie" which holds the record for the longest duration of any blues album in the British Blues charts, featuring original re-working of songs by Mississippi Fred McDowell, Rev Gary Davis, JB Lenoir and Sonny Boy Williamson.

To see Ray live is an amazing experience - certainly no novelty act. He has learned his craft the hard way, with years of touring.
