the SCOOTERS

Maybe this is our time?

It's a long way to the top, if you want to rock and roll. Indeed. But for Cardiff band The Scooters - it's where they're heading. Touted as the finest unsigned band in Wales, The Scooters feel that finally - this is their time.

Formed in 1996, The Scooters have built a reputation as a "must see" live act. Brimming with boundless energy, melodies to weep for and a dedication to their craft that leaves many gasping, their live act leaves you humming their songs as if they were your favourites. See them once, and you'll wonder how you survived without them.

The new album, Peepshow, is sure to raise some eyebrows. It's infectious stuff. In a world where angst and misery seem to dominate - it's refreshing to find a band with a lighter touch and an ear for a tune. The 8 self-penned songs (and a couple of hidden surprises) are the sound of a band confident in what they're doing. There's a hint of California sunshine with a wealth of Welsh passion, but this is unmistakably The Scooters' own sound. The songs fill any room, any stage - colourful observations, and an ease of musicianship - all part of the Scooters experience.

At the end of July 2001, it's off to the States. This whistle stop tour will take in some of the West Coast's top clubs, and include return visits to the Viper Room, Spaceland and The Mint, as well as appearances at festivals and a number of radio stations.

In preparation for the American tour, the band have started radio promotion in the States. After only their first week they have achieved radio play on 47 stations across America. The promotion continues....
